Breathing Meditation

In my last newsletter, I explained how I am continually asked for tools to help center and ground us when we are overwhelmed and triggered into a burnout response.

Zen monk Thich Nhat Hanh offered an eight-part breathing meditation which is easy, and anyone can do it. Breathing in and out to the following mantra. You can do it as often as you like, and even repeat it a few times.

In
Out
Deep
Slow
Calm
Ease
Smile
Release

This is the strategy I use whenever I am about to start a presentation or Zoom meeting to ground myself. I love it! Feel free to share around your circle as well.
