Flip the Script on Burnout #3

Happy New Year and welcome to The ‘New Year, New you’!

In my recent newsletter Flip the Script on Burnout #2 we have explored the idea of finding the positive in burnout and how we might use that energy to improve our situation.

Psychotherapists and psychologists will often use the “$1M Question” as a way of inquiring.

If you could wake up tomorrow, and your life is exactly how you’d want it to be, can you describe it?

I’d like to bet that the very first thing you think of is going to be the most important thing to focus on.

Whatever it is will require a level of tenacity and clarity to support you to go and get it. I am talking about Resilience.

Sometimes, resilience gets a bad rap, or an eye-roll, from people to see it as a way for organisations to squeeze even more out of their people.

But I see it as far more than that, and quite different, actually. It is a primary element of self-care and the foundation on which everything else we do is reliant.

There are six domains of Resilience and I look forward to discussing each one in the coming newsletters…

  • Vision

  • Composure

  • Tenacity

  • Collaboration

  • Reasoning

  • Health/self-care

We shall look at each one individually.
